WHAT I LEARNED AT HARVARD

Last week at Harvard I had some amazing conversations with a number of Asian students. We talked a lot about the shared First Gen experience, particularly of the pressure we feel to please our parents. In college I was nowhere near as aware of racial identity issues as they are and I'm thrilled that they're delving into these issues that I believe are critical for personal development. Christina Qiu's insights into Asian identity for both men and women were particularly enlightening. I learned a lot from these brilliant young people and look forward to spending more time with them.
